Gardens vary in size and in what they present in the way of existing features, as a result costs will also vary. Typically, we design gardens with a construction cost starting at £15-20K
Outline concepts are provided free of charge. 3D garden design, planting design and other garden planning aspects are the next step. At this point a design fee is calculated based on a percentage of the overall projected build cost. If you choose to appoint Hillman Gardens to implement the design, the initial design fee will then act as a deposit to the full landscaping cost and will be deducted from the overall price
Yes, this is in fact always the case. Part payment will be taken before the construction phase so to ensure buying of materials and starting labour costs are covered. As the project progresses, further payments will be made, this can be tailored according to your preference and what is deemed sensible by the landscaping team. The final instalment will always be paid at the end of the job once all landscape and gardening services are completed
Delivery of less complex gardens with a 3-4 person landscaping team might take 1 - 2 weeks. Complex designs involving intricate builds can take up to 4 - 5 months with a larger team
No, we are a design and build outfit and do not take on maintenance. However, we would be happy to put you in touch with other local landscaping companies that will supply such services
Hillman Gardens cover large areas of North and East London, concentrating in boroughs like Hackney, Islington, Camden, Waltham Forest, Haringey and Barnet
We take a holistic approach at Hillman Gardens, and so if there are elements relevant your garden, whether it is lighting arrangements, water features, furniture styling etc. we will ensure the design works, as well as help integrate these features as part of the build
Yes, we regularly coordinate with other contractors that are delivering other aspects of your home or garden. In recent times, we have worked with Lisa Shell Architects, Ascalon Building Services and Your Space Design. You can see more in our Partners page.
We will need access to water and electricity from your house in order to operate some machinery. You will also need to provide clear access for certain areas as we bring materials into the garden. Parking vouchers will also be required for the duration of the build
Whilst there will be the fullest supply of plants and flowers during warmer months, we are experienced to deal with the weather and bring to life your garden no matter the time of year
